THE ENNEAGRAM

CURIOUS ABOUT THE ILLUSTRIOUS ENNEAGRAM PERSONALITY PROFILING SYSTEM??

A one-of-a-kind eerily accurate Personality Profiling System that unlocks your wiring, your nature, your core fears & drivers. Learn what your healthiest and unhealthiest self looks like. Learn how your type works with your partner's type, your boss, your mother...

It allows us to see how each worldview impacts the way we bring our unique thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to any situation. Even beyond behavior, the Enneagram delves into the often-secret, unconscious, or underlying motivations that give us a look at 'why' people do what they do.The Enneagram emphasizes that we are all different and have different motivators. And to discover what motivates us, it is crucial to find the right balance between extrinsic and intrinsic motivators so we can motivate and energize ourselves (and others) successfully.

These one-word Type Descriptors can be expanded into four-word sets of traits.
Keep in mind that these are merely highlights and do not represent the full spectrum of each type.
Which type best represents you?

Type #1
THE REFORMER/THE JUDGE is principled, purposeful, self-controlled, and perfectionistic.
Type #2
THE HELPER is generous, demonstrative, people-pleasing, and possessive.
Type #3
THE ACHIEVER is adaptable, excelling, driven, and image-conscious.
Type #4
THE INDIVIDUALIST/THE ROMANTIC is expressive, dramatic, self-absorbed, and temperamental.
Type #5
THE OBSERVER/THE EXPERT is perceptive, innovative, secretive, and isolated.
Type #6
THE LOYALIST/THE TROOPER is engaging, responsible, anxious, and suspicious.
Type #7
THE ENTHUSIAST/THE EPICURE is spontaneous, versatile, acquisitive, and scattered.
Type #8
THE BOSS/THE CHALLENGER is self-confident, decisive, willful, and confrontational.
Type #9
THE PEACEMAKER is receptive, reassuring, complacent, and resigned.

THE MIND-BODY CONNECTION

For our Integrative and Physical Wellness focused Friends and Providers.THE MIND-BODY CONNECTION is a crucial relationship to understand if you or your clients struggle with chronic pain, illness, injury, disabilities, visible or invisible. Learn how mental and physical wellness or illness can perpetuate its own unique cycles, and how changing a thinking pattern, biohacking your nervous system with a few simple tricks, or starting one healthier habit can have an immeasurable healing effects.Mental health issues, depression, anxiety, and trauma can manifest physically and show up in the body.Research shows that those diagnosed with autoimmune disorders, chronic pain and fatigue often have a history of trauma. Our emotional lives and physical wellness are intertwined in our chronic stress, our burn out, grief and loss of a loved one, and in the loss of our functioning and identity as an athlete, as able bodied, as youthful.Therapy can help those of us with physical illness, chronic pain, and disabilities by encouraging us to trust our inner knowing of our symptoms with confidence, helping learn language around self-advocacy in the health care system and helping to create an empowered narrative. What can we do? What can we control? Learning mindfulness techniques and coping strategies can “right size” our experiences of pain and discomfort.

Is Online Therapy as Effective as In-Person Therapy?

If you’re considering therapy, you may be wondering: Is online therapy really as effective as seeing a therapist in person? It’s a common and important question, especially if you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship stress, trauma, burnout, perimenopause-related changes, or a major life transition.
The short answer is YES: online therapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy for many people. The longer answer depends on your needs, preferences, and the type of support you’re seeking.
Let’s explore what the research, and real-world experience shows.

What Is Online Therapy?

If you’re considering therapy, you may be wondering: Is online therapy really as effective as seeing a therapist in person? It’s a common and important question, especially if you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship stress, trauma, burnout, perimenopause-related changes, or a major life transition.
The short answer is YES: online therapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy for many people. The longer answer depends on your needs, preferences, and the type of support you’re seeking.
Let’s explore what the research, and real-world experience shows.

What Is Online Therapy?

Online therapy (also called telehealth or teletherapy) allows you to meet with a licensed therapist through secure video sessions. It offers access to high-quality mental health care from the comfort of your home, office, or wherever you feel most at ease.
For clients in states participating in PSYPACT, online therapy also allows licensed psychologists to provide care across state lines, expanding access to specialized services like trauma-informed therapy, ADHD evaluations, couples counseling, and neurodiversity-affirming care.
Online therapy is commonly used to support:

  • Anxiety and depression

  • ADHD and executive functioning challenges

  • Trauma and stress-related concerns

  • Relationship and couples issues

  • Burnout and life transitions

  • Perimenopause-related mental health symptoms

What Does the Research Say?

Research consistently shows that online therapy is as effective as in-person therapy for many mental health concerns, particularly when evidence-based approaches are used.
Strong outcomes have been demonstrated for telehealth treatment of:

  • Anxiety disorders

  • Depression

  • PTSD and trauma-related symptoms

  • ADHD and emotional regulation difficulties

  • Couples and relationship challenges

What matters most is not the physical location, but the quality of the therapeutic relationship, the therapist’s training, and the consistency of care.

Why Many Prefer it

1. Greater Access and Consistency
Online therapy removes barriers like commuting, weather, childcare logistics, physical limitations, or packed schedules. When therapy is easier to attend, people are more likely to show up consistently, and consistency is key to meaningful progress.
2. Comfort and Emotional Safety
Many clients feel more relaxed opening up from their own space. For individuals with anxiety, trauma histories, ADHD, or sensory sensitivities, being at home can reduce stress and support deeper emotional work.
3. Access to Specialized Care
Telehealth allows clients to work with therapists who truly fit their needs, even if they’re not located nearby. This is especially helpful for specialized services such as ADHD evaluations, trauma-informed therapy, couples counseling, or culturally responsive care.
4. Real-Life Application
Because sessions take place in your everyday environment, therapists can help you apply skills directly to your daily routines, relationships, and stressors, making therapy feel more practical and immediately relevant.
Online therapy may be a good fit if you:

  • Have a private, comfortable space for sessions

  • Value convenience and flexibility

  • Feel comfortable connecting via video

  • Want consistent, accessible support

When In-Person Therapy May Be a Better Fit

In-person therapy may be preferable when:

  • A client does not have access to a private or safe space for telehealth

  • Someone strongly prefers the routine, accountability, and reciprocal exchange of energy that goes along with in person therapy

  • Certain hands-on or intensive modalities are needed

  • Immediate, in-person crisis care is required

Many people also find that a hybrid approach, combining online and in-person sessions over time works well.

Online Therapy for ADHD, Anxiety, and Burnout

Online therapy is particularly effective for adult ADHD, anxiety, and burnout, especially when paired with structured, skills-based approaches.Telehealth works well for:

  • ADHD-informed therapy and executive functioning support

  • Anxiety management and emotional regulation

  • Burnout related to work, caregiving, or life transitions

  • Psychoeducation, planning, and behavioral strategies

Many practices also offer adult ADHD screenings and evaluations via telehealth, providing clarity and treatment recommendations without long wait times or unnecessary barriers.

Does Online Couples Therapy Work?

Yes, online couples therapy can be highly effective for communication issues, emotional disconnection, and relationship stress.
Benefits include:

  • Easier scheduling for busy partners

  • Reduced defensiveness when meeting from familiar spaces

  • Greater consistency and follow-through

For many couples, online therapy actually increases engagement and momentum.

Is Online Therapy Effective in Minnesota and Beyond?

If you’re located in Minnesota or another PSYPACT-participating state, online therapy provides access to high-quality mental health care without being limited by geography. Many clients across the Twin Cities and beyond choose telehealth for its flexibility, privacy, and effectiveness.

The Bottom Line

Online therapy is not a second-best alternative. It is a proven, effective, and accessible form of mental health care. For many adults and older teens, it offers the same depth, connection, and results as in-person therapy, often with fewer obstacles. If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or unsure where to begin, therapy, online or in person, can help you move forward with clarity and support.

Ready to Take the Next Step?

Choosing between online and in-person therapy doesn’t have to feel overwhelming. We offer a free 15-minute consultation held online via Zoom, making it easy to connect from wherever you are. As a PSYPACT-approved clinic, we’re able to provide telehealth services to clients in most U.S. states.During this brief consultation, we’ll answer your questions, explore what you’re looking for, and help you decide whether online therapy is the right fit for you.Schedule your free 15-minute Zoom consultation and take the first step toward feeling more supported, grounded, and understood.
